Alfred University faculty give presentation at SUNY Librarians Association Conference
Three Alfred University faculty delivered a presentation at the annual SUNY Librarians Association Conference on June 15 at SUNY Maritime College in the Bronx, NY.
Samantha Dannick, engineering and scholarly communications librarian at Scholes Library, John Hosford, art librarian at Scholes Library, and Angus Powers, professor of glass, gave a presentation titled “Beyond Flipping the Classroom: Glassblowing and Embedded Librarianship.”
The presentation focused on the collaboration between the three faculty members in the glass studio in Alfred University’s School of Art and Design, which offered students an opportunity to meet their library liaisons and increased the librarians’ role in the studio. It also provided the students with an opportunity to teach the librarians the basics of glassblowing in the hot shop.
